St. Mark Episcopal Church holds its first service.
September 30, 1851
It is located on today’s West Concord Street. The congregation was established on April 4, 1851, before buying and moving into the former Shawmut Congregational Church. Patrick H. Greenleaf is the first minister. The congregation moves to the corner of Newton Street and Newland Street in 1868, and dissolves in 1885.
